The board of Ameren Corp. elected Charles D. Naslund assistant vice president, power operations. Naslund will help manage operation of the power plants of Union Electric, now known as AmerenUE.
The Texas Public Utility Commission named Saralee Tiede the new director of the Office of Customer Protection. Tiede will replace Bill Magness, who was chosen a year ago to direct the PUC's customer education and response program.
Chairman James J. Hoecker named David P. Boergers to the post of secretary of the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission. Boergers has served as acting secretary since the retirement of Lois Cashell in December 1997.
Kevin Belford was elected general counsel of the American Gas Association. Belford will succeed David Muchow who retired after 22 years of service. Previously, Belford served as A.G.A.'s deputy general counsel and assistant corporate secretary.
CMS NOMECO Oil & Gas Co. announced that Bradley W. Fischer was promoted to the position of president and CEO. Fischer succeeds Gordon L. Wright, who elected early retirement.
ComEd appointed Robert K. McDonald as strategic planning vice president.
Don C. Werner joined the staff of the Alliance for Telecommunications Industry Solutions as director. Werner most recently served as district manager of industry forums management at AT&T.
Unicom Corp. appointed Mark T. Kuntz to vice president and general manager for Unicom Distributed Energy. Before joining Unicom, Kuntz served as the director of national accounts for Lennox Industries.
Cinergy Corp. announced the appointment of William F. Tyndall as vice president, environmental services. Tyndall was the minority counsel of the Committee on Commerce of the U.S. House of Representatives, where he advised Democratic committee members on environmental issues and statutes.
Consolidated Edison Co.'s board of trustees named John D. McMahon senior vice president and general counsel; Marilyn Caselli, vice president of customer operations; and Saddie L. Smith, vice president, Staten Island. McMahon serves as deputy general counsel, corporate and regulatory. Caselli holds the post of vice president, Staten Island. Smith joined Con Edison's law department in 1982.
Robert S. Pirie replaces George Fox as director of the United American Energy Corp. board of directors. Pirie is vice chairman of investment banking at Societe Generale Securities Corp.
