William C. Lansinger, formerly senior policy advisor to Federal Energy Regulatory Commission chairman James J. Hoecker, and Carol L. Sampson, formerly director of the Office of Hydropower Licensing, have been named deputy directors to Daniel Adamson, director of the FERC's new Office of Energy Projects.

Vicky Bailey, president of PSI Energy and a former FERC commissioner, has been elected to the Gas Industry Standards Board to represent the end-user segment.

AGL Resources Inc. has appointed Jerry Wackerhagen chief information officer/vice president, information services and technology. Prior to joining AGL in October, Wackerhagen was a principal at IBM.

Chauncey Starr, EPRI's president emeritus, has received the American Physical Society's George E. Pake Prize "for visionary leadership and physics contributing to the establishment of a worldwide nuclear power industry for peaceful purposes." Starr is the founding president of EPRI.

Oglethorpe Power Corp. has named Jeffrey D. Tranen to its board, where he will be one of four outside directors. Tranen has nearly 30 years of experience in the electric utility industry.
