Craig Glazer , former commissioner and chairman of the Public Utilities Commission of Ohio, has joined PJM Interconnection LLC as manager of regulatory affairs. Glazer was a member of the board of the National Association of Regulatory Utility Commissioners.

The North American Electric Reliability Council has appointed Dr. Fred I. Denny to manager—support services. Previously, Denny had served on the engineering faculty of McNeese State University and at Southern Company Services.

D.N. Rose , president and CEO of Questar Gas, has been elected chairman of the American Gas Association's board for 2001. Also elected as 2001 officers were first vice chair William Michael Warren Jr. , chairman, president, and CEO of Energen Corp., and immediate past chair Gary Neale , chairman, president, and CEO of NiSource Inc.

Calpine Corp. has named Richard W. Haviland senior vice president. Previously, Haviland held various positions with Bechtel in the fossil power business.

Ameren Corp. has appointed Mary Heger its first-ever manager of eBusiness development. AmerenEnergy Fuel and Services Co. also made several appointments: Michael G. Mueller has been named vice president; Robert K. Neff was named manager, coal supply and transportation; and Daniel J. Lidisky was named manager, fuel business development.

Laura Langer has been named vice president, risk management, for PG&E Corp. Langer comes from Deloitte & Touche, where she was a senior manager in the energy transacting and risk management division of the Capital Markets Group.

Reliant Energy has named executives to lead it following its planned separation into two stand-alone companies. Steve Letbetter will serve as chairman and CEO of the unregulated company, and David McClanahan will be president and CEO of the regulated company. Letbetter also will serve as non-executive chairman of the regulated company. Letbetter currently is chairman, president, and CEO of Reliant Energy, and McClanahan is president and COO of Reliant Energy Delivery Group.

James W. Wright has been elected to the board of Alabama Power Co. Wright is president and CEO of First Tuskegee Bank. Marsha S. Johnson has been elected vice president, customer service, for Alabama Power. Johnson most recently was director of customer service.

Joseph W. Sutton , vice chairman of Enron since 1999, has left the company after eight years. J. Clifford Baxter has been promoted to vice chairman. Baxter, the former chief strategy officer, joined Enron in 1991.

Electricity service provider Friendly Energy has named Stephen McKenery COO. He replaces Thomas F. Bowers , who left the company to pursue other interests.

Kevin Burke has been named president of Consolidated Edison Co. Burke, who has been with the company for 27 years, most recently served as president of subsidiary Orange & Rockland Utilities Inc.

The National Mining Association has named Jack N. Gerard its new president and CEO, to succeed Richard L. Lawson . Lawson will retire at year's end, following 13 years as NMA's president and CEO. Gerard is chairman and CEO of the consulting firm of McClure, Gerard and Neuenschwander Inc.
