Niagara Mohawk Power Corp. announced the election of Darlene D. Kerr as president and COO. Kerr joined the company in 1973 as a junior methods analyst. In 1998, she was elected executive vice president and COO of Niagara Mohawk's energy delivery business.
Susan Story was promoted to executive vice president of engineering and generation services for Southern Company. Most recently, Story was vice president of procurement and materials. She joined the company in 1982.
AmerenEnergy Generating Company promoted James Williams, Jr. to manager at AEG's Coffeen Plant. Williams joined the company in 1986 as an assistant plant engineer at Newton Power Station. William R. McGreevy has been named director, gas business development, for AmerenEnergy Fuels and Service Company.
Wendell Dallas has been named manager of Atlanta Gas Light's southeast service area. Dallas joined AGLC in April 2000 as manager of the central Georgia service area, after leaving El Paso Energy, where he was an operations supervisor. Dallas replaced Ralph Cleveland , who was promoted to vice president - operations and engineering for Virginia Natural Gas, a division of AGL Resources, parent company of Atlanta Gas Light. Don Thomason will assume the position of interim manager for the central Georgia area.
Calpine Corp. announced two new hires. Dennis Fishback has joined the company as senior vice president and CIO. Fishback comes from the California Independent System Operator. Jeanne Connelly was named the vice president of federal relations. Most recently, Connelly was with Champion International's Washington, D.C. office.
Gerald J. Stalun has been named executive vice president and managing director of Duke Capital Partners. Stalun most recently served as managing director and co-head of Global Project Finance for the power industry at Bank of America. Duke Energy Field Services announced the promotion of John Jackson to vice president and CFO. Jackson will fill the position held by David Frederick , who retired in February. Angeline M. Clinton was named vice president, customer contact services, for Duke Power. Clinton joined the company in 1998. Kenneth Canady was promoted to vice president, nuclear engineering, for Duke Power. Canady joined the company in 1968 in the steam production department.
The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission's advisory committee on reactor safeguards elected Dr. George E. Apostolakis as chairman, Dr. Mario V. Bonaca as vice chairman, and Dr. Thomas S. Kress as member-at-large. Dr. Apostolakis is currently a professor of nuclear engineering at MIT.
David Roth has been promoted to vice president and assistant general counsel for Dynegy Inc. Roth joined Dynegy in 1996 from the Houston office of Akin, Gump, Strauss, Hauer & Feld.
Energy East Corp. announced that Angela M. Sparks has been elected vice president - government affairs for Energy East Management Corporation. Sparks joined the company in 1991.
T. Graham Edwards was elected to the Midwest Independent Transmission System Operator (MISO) board of directors. He replaces Donald L. Stokely , who decided not to run for re-election. William P. Vititoe was also re-elected to the board.
