The board of directors at El Paso Corp. accelerated its search to replace CEO William A. Wise , appointing Ronald L. Keuhn Jr. as CEO and chairman, effective March 12. Wise had agreed to step down by year's end, but the board pushed ahead with the transition to, in its words, "provide strong leadership and stability while in search of a permanent CEO." El Paso also brought former Transocean Inc. CEO J. Michael Talbert to El Paso's board, appointed John Bissell lead director, and voted unanimously to add CONSOL Energy Inc. chairman John L.
