New Opportunities:  Dynegy appointed E. Hunter Harrison , currently a Dynegy director, as interim president and CEO. Harrison replaces David W. Biegler, who served as Dynegy’s interim president and CEO after the departure of Bruce Williamson.

Cleco Corp. selected Bruce Williamson to become president and CEO effective July 5, 2011. Williamson most recently was chairman, president and CEO of Dynegy. He succeeds Michael Madison , who will step down as president and CEO to become vice chairman effective July 2011.

Entergy Mississippi named Napoleon Johnson v.p. of customer operations. Johnson previously served as director of safety and continuous improvement for the company’s utility group.

Ellen Krohne joined Navigant’s energy practice as a director. Previously, Krohne served as v.p. of customer service at Illinois Power.

Judy Steele , FCA, was appointed interim CFO of Emera, effective May 16, 2011. Steele, who was Emera Energy’s v.p. of finance, replaces Nancy Tower, who became CEO of Emera Newfoundland and Labrador, and executive v.p. of business development for Emera.

Brian Quinlan joined Nautilus Solar as the executive v.p. of development. He joins Nautilus from Lars Energy, where he was managing director.

Sky Harvest Windpower appointed Harry Bauskin and Patricia Shorr as directors. Bauskin previously held various positions with Bank Hapoalim, Israel’s largest bank. Shorr was a principal at Spectrum Capital Corp., which consults to wind and solar energy developers.

ConEdison Solutions named Ralph A. Moore to serve as the company’s manager of sales in Virginia. Moore most recently served as assistant superintendent for administration at the Louisa County (Va.) Public Schools.

Marie Pieniazek joined Energy Curtailment Specialists (ECS) as COO. Pieniazek has been involved in ECS’s development since its inception in 2001, initially when she was a senior analyst at the New York Independent System Operator, and later as a consultant.

Salim Khan joined Trilliant as the company’s COO. He joins Trilliant from ABB where he was senior v.p. and general manager of ABB’s network management business in North America.

Steve Fetter relocated Regulation UnFettered , his energy advisory firm, to Nordland, Wash., from Henderson, Nev.

Energy Plus Holdings appointed Hugh Scott as CIO. Before joining the electricity retailer in 2010, Scott was chief process officer and v.p., information services, at Direct Energy Residential.

Conservation Services Group (CSG) promoted Julie DeSeve to the position of residential retrofit product director. DeSeve began her career at CSG in 1993 in administration, business development and customer service.

EnerNOC hired Hugh Scandrett as v.p. of engineering. Scandrett most recently served as v.p. of engineering for Kronos Inc., a workforce management solutions firm.

 

Boards of Directors: The Electric Power Research Institute elected Theodore (Ted) F. Craver Jr. to become EPRI’s board chairman. Craver is chairman, president and CEO of Edison International .

Former Pennsylvania Governor Ed Rendell has joined the board of directors of OwnEnergy, a developer of community wind power projects. Before serving as governor, Rendell was mayor of Philadelphia, and was a district attorney from 1978 through 1985.
