New Opportunities: Constellation Energy named Michelle Robinette McKenna chief information officer (CIO). Most recently, McKenna served as president of Vision Interactive Media Group in Orlando, Fla.

Xcel Energy’s board of directors elected Benjamin G.S. Fowke III, currently president and COO, to succeed Richard C. Kelly as chairman and CEO, effective upon Kelly’s August 24, 2011 retirement.

Steven B. Ambrose has been named v.p. and CIO at DTE Energy. He replaces Lynne Ellyn, who has announced her retirement. He most recently served as director for enterprise performance management at DTE Energy.

Alliant Energy’s board of directors elected John Kratchmer to serve as v.p. and treasurer. Kratchmer most recently served as v.p., energy delivery at Alliant.

American Superconductor announced that Daniel P. McGahn, president and COO, was appointed CEO and a member of the board of directors. McGahn succeeds founder Gregory J. Yurek, who is retiring after more than two decades of service.

Pacific Gas and Electric (PG&E) appointed Karen Austin as senior v.p. and chief information officer (CIO). Most recently, Austin was CIO for Sears Holdings.
