natural gas-fired DG has the technical potential to be cleaner than traditional central station generation, it’s important that DG resources be held to stringent environmental standards. Customers place a high value on clean air, particularly important in a dense urban environment; as such, utilities shouldn’t encourage the use of DG that lowers the local quality of the environment.
