
The Electric Power Supply Association elected B. Kent Burton, senior vice president of policy and international government relations for Ogden Energy Group, its chair for 2000. Kenneth E. Randolph, senior vice president and general counsel for Dynegy Inc., was named EPSA's first vice chair, and Bill Mack, president and chief executive officer of Coastal Power Co., was named second vice chair.
EPSA also named Donn Salvosa manager of government affairs and Shannon Gordon manager of finance and administration. Salvosa previously was legislative clerk for the Commerce Committee of the House of Representatives, while Gordon managed all financial and accounting functions at the Association for Educational Communications & Technology.
Jerry J. Saacks was named president and CEO of Georgia System Operations Corp. Saacks comes to GSOC from Oglethorpe Power Corp., where he was chief operating officer, but he served as COO of GSOC in 1997 and 1998. Oglethorpe Power, GSOC and Georgia Transmission Corp. were formed as separate companies in the 1997 restructuring of Oglethorpe.
Dynegy Inc. appointed Donna Atchison president of Dynegy Energy Services and Milton L. Scott senior vice president and chief administrative officer of Dynegy Inc. Atchison is Dynegy's former executive vice president of commercial asset management, while Scott most recently was a partner with Arthur Andersen LLP.
Neil Colwell, Avista Corp.'s director of state government relations for Idaho and Montana, was appointed to the Electric Industry Restructuring Transition Advisory Committee of the Montana Legislature. Colwell will serve as one of a dozen members who advise the legislative members of the committee.
Lawrence R. Codey, president and COO of Public Service Electric & Gas Co., will retire Feb. 29 after 26 years with the company. Alfred C. Koeppe, senior vice president of corporate services and external affairs, will succeed Codey.
The board of Southern Co. named Marce Fuller executive vice president. In July, Fuller was promoted to president and CEO of Southern Energy Inc., a unit of Southern Co. The board elected Gale Klappa, formerly chief strategic officer, senior vice president of Southern Co. and executive vice president of Southern Co. Services.
Ann Marie Hunt was named supervisor of Detroit Edison's Marysville Power Plant in Marysville, Mich. Most recently, she served as an engineer at Detroit Edison's Harbor Beach Power Plant.
Donald P. Weinstein was named senior vice president and chief financial officer of AGL Resources Inc. Weinstein previously was vice president of planning and development at Citizens Utilities Co.
Duke Energy North America appointed Mary Gilbert senior vice president and CFO. Gilbert most recently served as senior vice president of finance for CHI Energy Inc.
Roger H. Kessel, executive vice president of TECO Energy Inc., retired Dec. 31. Kessel joined the company as vice president and general counsel in 1989.
Geoffrey D. Roberts Jr., president and CEO of Entergy Power Group, succeeded Shahid Malik, who resigned, as president and CEO of Entergy Power Marketing Corp. Roberts continues his role at EPG as well.
Ellen Hollander was appointed to the new position of managing director of market development at the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association. Previously, Hollander was president of CMC Energy Services.
