Enron Corp. has elected CEO, effective Feb. 12. He will assume the role in addition to his responsibilities as president and COO. will continue to serve as chairman of the board.

The Nuclear Energy Institute has elected and to its executive committee. Both men were elected to fill unexpired terms of directors who resigned due to industry mergers. Burg is chairman and CEO of FirstEnergy Corp., and Kingsley is president and chief nuclear officer at Exelon Nuclear. Kingsley and , president and COO of PSEG Power, were named to the NEI board of directors.

has been promoted to senior vice president and general manager of Williams Gas Pipeline's SouthCentral business unit. Cocklin succeeds , who relocated to Houston to accept a position with Williams Communications.

has been appointed vice president, broadband initiatives, for AEP Communications Inc., a subsidiary of American Electric Power. Tolnar brings more than 14 years of experience with Sprint Broadband Local Networks.

Ameren Corp. has elected vice president-nuclear of AmerenUE. Affolter previously was manager of the Callaway Nuclear Plant.

The Weather Risk Management Association has appointed a new board of directors. of Aquila Energy has been named president of the association. of Enron has been appointed vice president. of Koch Industries will continue as secretary/treasurer. The association also appointed new directors, including of Element Re and of Speedwell Weather Derivatives. of Societe Generale and of Southern Co. will continue as directors.

has been named vice president and CFO, finance and planning, of Duke Energy's Energy Services unit. Previously, Michael was vice president of planning and finance for Energy Services.

, CEO of Matthew G. Norton Co., was elected to Avista Corp.'s board of directors. Avista also elected , a member of the board since 1991, non-executive chairman of the board; , formerly executive vice president at Avista, was appointed president and CEO; and and , both 20-year veterans of Avista, were named corporate vice presidents.

, chairman and CEO of Textron Inc., has been elected to the board of Allegheny Energy Inc. Campbell has served since February 1999 as chairman of the Textron board of directors. Allegheny Energy also appointed , senior vice president and CFO, as president of Allegheny Energy Supply Co. Morrell replaces , who retired Feb. 1 after 37 years with Allegheny.

Energy New England has promoted to vice president, energy operations. Prior to this promotion, Hebert served as operations manager.

, formerly senior vice president and CFO for PECO Energy, has assumed the duties of executive vice president of Exelon Corp. and president and CEO, Exelon Enterprises upon completion of the merger of PECO and Unicom Corp. , executive vice president and president and CEO for Unicom Enterprises, who had been designated to serve as president and CEO for Exelon Enterprises, has resigned to pursue other interests. , senior vice president and CFO of Unicom, has assumed the positions of senior vice president and CFO at Excelon. , executive vice president of Unicom, has assumed duties of executive vice president for Exelon Corp. and president of Exelon Energy Delivery. She also became vice chair of ComEd.

The New England Power Pool has elected chairman of the Participants Committee. He replaced , who retired after three terms as chair of NEPOOL's key governing body. Allegretti is a director in Enron Corp.'s Government Affairs Group.
