Carter T. Funk was promoted to v.p.-business and operations services at Consolidated Natural Gas Co. He moves up from v.p.-asset acquisition and resource development at CNG Energy Services.

Marian M. Davenport was promoted to v.p., general counsel, and secretary for Destec Energy, Inc. She replaces Stephen R. Wright, who retired.

Central and South West Corp. has elected Jim Ellis, chairman and CEO of SEEBOARD plc, to its board of directors. SEEBOARD is one of 12 regional electricity companies in the United Kingdom, and was expected to be acquired by Central and South West this month.

Vic Parrish and William H. Barley have been promoted by the Washington Public Power Supply System. Parrish, formerly v.p.-nuclear operations, is now managing director. Barley is the new director of quality.

Three American Electric Power executives were elected officers of the

company's energy transmission and distribution group: Joseph H. Vipperman, executive v.p.-energy delivery; Carl A. Erikson, v.p.-energy distribution; Peter Splawnyk, v.p.-energy transmission.

Laclede Gas Co. shareholders elected Richard E. Beumer, CEO of Sverdrup Corp., to the board of directors. The board also elected Ronald L. Krutzman corporate treasurer and assistant secretary. Krutzman replaces Vernon O. Steinberg.

Edwin Dailor was elected president of the Organization for the Protection and Advancement of Small Telecommunications Companies. Dailor is secretary/ treasurer of both North Penn Telephone Co. and Empire Telephone Corp. Other officers elected include first v.p. (em Ed Eichler, president of Pigeon Telephone Co.; second v.p. (em Allen Layman, president of R&B Telephone Co.; and treasurer (em James Sherburne, g.m. of United Farmers Telephone Co.

United Cities Gas Co. has promoted Catherine W. Meyer to senior manager of gas supply. Wennetta A. Sadler was promoted to senior compensation and benefits manager.

John Hunter and David Christian have joined the United States Telephone

Association. Hunter, formerly with Reed Smith Shaw & McClay, is now executive director of the new mid-size company affairs department. Christian, a former consultant, is communications manager.

Craig Glazer and Daniel M. Slane have been reappointed to the Ohio Public Utilities Commission.

The Montana Power Co. has named Robert P. Gannon vice chairman and president. Gannon was president and COO. The company also promoted John D. Haffey, v.p. for administration and regulatory affairs, to executive v.p. and COO.

Seagull Energy Corp.'s Robert W. Shower, executive v.p. and CFO, has retired. Robert M. King, v.p.-corporate development and treasurer, has resigned to become CFO of a Houston energy company.

Three management changes were made at The Columbia Gas System, Inc. and three subsidiaries. Catherine Good Abbott was promoted to CEO of Columbia's two interstate pipeline subsidiaries. She replaces James P. Holland, who resigned. Stephen J. Harvey was promoted to v.p. of Columbia Gas System Service Corp. Michael J. Gluckman was hired as CEO of TriStar Ventures Corp. W. Henry Harmon, formerly treasurer and controller of Columbia Natural Resources, Inc., was named president of that company and Columbia Coal Gasification, Inc. He also succeeds John R. Henning as CEO when Henning retires on May 1.

Walter Berger of Enron Oil Trading and Transportation Energy Corp. (EOTT) was appointed executive v.p. and CFO of LG&E Energy Corp.

WPS Resources Corp. has promoted Daniel Bollom to chairman, filling a seat that has been vacant since 1991. Bollom continues as CEO. Frank Kicsar was promoted to secretary, replacing retiree Robert Knuth.

Jerry Yelverton was named executive v.p. and COO of Entergy Operations, succeeding Harry Keiser.

Bob Pollard has stepped down as senior nuclear safety engineer of the Union of Concerned Scientists. t
