Kenneth G. Hurwitz was named of counsel by Venable, Baetjer, Howard & Civiletti, LLP and will be resident in the firm's Washington, DC, and Baltimore, MD, offices. His practice concentrates on energy and regulatory law, and he has 18 years of practice before state utility commissions and the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission. From 1983 to 1987, he served as executive director of the Maryland Public Service Commission.
John Kean, Jr. will succeed his father, John Kean, as CEO of NUI Corp. Kean, Jr. joined NUI in 1985, and in 1988 became executive vice president and COO of KCS Group Inc., a holding company formed when NUI spun off its nonregulated gas businesses. He rejoined NUI in 1990 as vice president, was named CFO in 1991, and became president in 1994.
