Siemens Wins Contract to Help United States Geological Survey Achieve Energy Savings

Siemens Government Technologies was awarded an $11 million task order by the United States Geological Survey (USGS) to implement energy conservation measures at three of its facilities: National Center (Reston, Virginia); Columbia Environmental Research Center (Columbia, Missouri); and the Western Fisheries Research Center (Seattle, Washington). Under the energy savings performance contract (ESPC), an IDIQ contract with the Department of Energy, the cost of the project will be funded by energy savings guaranteed by Siemens. Specific energy conservation measures will include, but are not limited to, building automation systems, chiller plant improvements, domestic water retrofits, lighting, and solar photovoltaic solutions.
