It's possible, the impassioned Yeager continued, for the U.S. to "remain on a predictable trajectory toward an efficient, clean, electricity- and hydrogen-based, global energy economy before the end of the next century (em unless our political preoccupation with the short-term appearance of progress undermines the actual progress we seek." After all, he concluded, "We didn't get here quickly and it's not feasible to get out quickly."
