Frank Johnson has been elected president and CEO of CMS Energy's international electric and gas distribution unit, CMS Electric & Gas Co. Johnson was previously vice president for the distribution unit. He joined CMS Energy's principal subsidiary, Consumer Energy, in 1970. CMS Energy also announced that Belinda Foxworth was promoted to senior vice president and general counsel of its diversified energy business unit, CMS Enterprises Co.
Henry P. Linginfelter has been named to head Virginia Natural Gas AGL, once AGL has closed the acquisition of Virginia Natural Gas Inc. He is currently vice president of regulatory affairs for Atlanta Gas Light Co. Linginfelter has been with AGL for 17 years.
The Virginia State Corporation Commission has named Steven C. Bradley as deputy director. He replaces Alan R. Wickham , who retired after 25 years with the SCC. Bradley brings more than 25 years of telecommunications experience to his new position.
Clarence R. Fisher , president and CEO of Upper Peninsula Power Co., a wholly owned subsidiary of WPS Resources, has retired. Fisher joined UPPCo in 1963. Gary Erickson , UPPCo's customer service manager-Eastern, succeeded Fisher as head of the company.
Wisconsin Public Service Corp. recently announced two promotions. Tom Meinz was named senior vice president-public affairs, and Dan Verbanac became senior vice presidentWPS Energy Services Inc. Meinz joined the company in 1969 and has held various positions including vice president-power supply and engineering. Verbanac started with WPSC in 1984 and was previously director of trading operations.
Peter V. Fazio has been named executive vice president and general counsel for NiSource, the energy company created with the completion of the merger with Columbus Energy Group. NiSource also named James K. Abcouwer president and CEO of its Columbia Natural Resources subsidiary. Abcouwer was previously NiSource's senior vice president for merchant energy and president of its unregulated supply management company, TPC Corp.
Entergy has named Ted Sullivan to be site vice president at the James A. Fitzpatrick plant. He previously was vice president operations/station director at the Pilgrim Nuclear Power Station. Sullivan joined the Pilgrim staff in 1973, and has held various positions at the reactor.
Earl B. Parsons has been named vice president of fuel services for Southern Company Generation, the business unit responsible for developing and operating all non-nuclear SC generating plants in the Southeast. Previously, Parsons was vice president and associate general counsel.
TNPC, parent company of The New Power Co., has appointed Eugene B. Shanks to its board of directors. Shanks is president and CEO of NetRisk Inc., which he founded in 1997.
James E. Rogers has been elected chairman of the board for Cinergy. He will continue in his positions of president and CEO. Jackson H. Randolph was elected chairman emeritus. Randolph will continue to serve as a director. Cinergy also elected Lisa D. Gamblin vice president and treasurer, and Wendy L. Aumiller as assistant treasurer. Gamblin is the former vice president and CFO of Cinergy's energy delivery business unit. She replaced Andrew M. Turk , who resigned. Aumiller previously was general manager of generation financial planning.
