When the Edison Electric Institute (EEI) in January 2013 published Peter Kind’s report on disruptive trends, it wasn’t the first time that someone rang alarm bells on this topic (See, for example, this space in our June 2012 issue, “Facing Facts about Solar). But coming from EEI and a highly respected banking executive, the report pushed the issue into the spotlight, and accordingly it was a central theme for discussion at both the 2013 EEI Annual Convention and the summer meetings of the National Association of Regulatory Utility Commissioners (NARUC).
