The long road to decarbonization needs all kinds of technology in all aspects of the energy and utilities industry. That include natural gas, and an innovative solution is here that helps move along that clean-energy journey and as an added bonus, improves safety.

ZEVAC is short for Zero Emission Vacuum and Compressor, and it is a compact and portable methane mitigation equipment line. There is much to know about this innovation and how it can help utilities.

Public Utilities Fortnightly got together with two of ZEVAC's experts, Chief Technology Officer Doug Sahm and Vice President of Sales Roxie Mounter, for a deeper look at this company and how it is helping enhance environmental stewardship. Listen in.

PUF's Steve Mitnick: Give an overview of the ZEVAC solution for natural gas distribution utilities.

Roxy Mounter: A lot of our clients use our technology to reduce risk and keep more gas in the pipe. So, we enable operators to use our technology as a tool that they use day in, day out, to keep gas in the system.

We help keep more molecules in the pipe and we also help worker safety because gas is not being released to the environment. The workers are not exposed to any natural gas because they're keeping it in the system.

PUF: Doug, you are the CTO. Talk about what you do and how this solution came to be.
