In honoring Kuhn with Public Utilities Fortnightly's highest award, named for the extraordinary industry leader of a hundred years ago — Owen Young — we salute the man behind the transformational "Power by Association." We do this not alone. What follows are the voices of a dozen of the industry's top leaders of the twenty-first century, about Kuhn's accomplishments, and the man himself. Including four utility Executive Chairs, three utility CEOs, four retired utility CEOs, and Kuhn's longtime key associate at EEI, David Owens.

PUF's Steve Mitnick: When in your career did you begin working with Tom Kuhn and his team at Edison Electric Institute? Please talk about those experiences.

Warner Baxter: I have been at Ameren for twenty-eight years. While I would say that I have had the ability to watch Tom and his team in action during much of that time, I can tell you that I have had the good fortune to work very closely with them on a variety of important energy issues over the last decade.

Going even one step further, I have worked side by side with Tom and his team over the last three years as Chair and Vice Chair of EEI. I can tell you that it has been an honor and privilege to have this ringside seat during a period when transformational energy legislation was achieved for our industry, customers, and country.
