Q: What’s “New and Improved” about Fortnightly.com?
A: Some features are still under construction. However, it’s an entirely new website architecture, with a host of new features and tools to help you find the information and analysis you need, and to allow discussions with other readers and even article authors. Our article content has been converted from PDF into XML format. This allows Fortnightly.com to guide you to the most pertinent and vital articles in our archive of content going back almost 20 years, and allows more interaction with article authors and other Fortnightly readers. These changes also lay the foundation for additional powerful features to come. Stay tuned for further announcements.
ALSO to access content reserved for subscribers only, each reader must activate account online and login with an individual user ID and password. This is different from our previous login method, which used a rotating monthly login ID and password that was printed in each issue’s table of contents. This is good news for two main reasons: 1) you won’t have to enter a new login every month, if you allow your browser to remember your password; and 2) your individual account will allow you to manage your subscription and other PUR transactions online.
Q: Can I login using a user ID and password from one of my old (pre-June 2012) Fortnightly magazine issues?
A: No. Each subscriber now has a unique account for accessing Fortnightly.com content. To login, please choose one of the following options:<

Q: Have the terms of my subscription changed?
A: No, but we’ve changed the terms of access to Fortnightly.com. All Public Utilities Fortnightly magazine subscriptions now include a “site license,” which provides access to content reserved for subscribers only. A regular Fortnightly annual subscription now includes four “seats” – i.e., login accounts for four individual readers. To obtain seats for additional users, please purchase additional subscriptions. Group rates are available for companies that require hard copy subscriptions for multiple people.
Q: Can I continue sharing my subscription with office colleagues?
A: Yes if you have a paid individual subscription. From your user profile page, you can invite three other people to join your subscription, so they can gain digital access. You can change who has access later, so if someone leaves the company you can assign their access to a different person. Within your user profile, click on the "Manage Your Subscription" tab to invite three colleagues to begin accessing content on Fortnightly.com immediately.
Q: I’ve found an error, or I’m having trouble logging in, or I can’t set up my profile.
A: Temporary errors will resolve themselves as we perform live maintenance and updates to Fortnightly.com. Please try again in a few minutes. If you still have problems, please contact the webmaster.
Q: I need to print an article with all the charts and images, but the print-friendly version omits them. Help!
A: The print-article feature is one of many things we're still trying to improve with our new website. Although our print functionality is currently limited, you can save or print all article graphics separately. Right-click on an image and select "Open in new tab" or your browser's equivalent. From the new tab, you can save and print each image at the full scale -- which turns out to be tricky in a print-friendly version.
