AT Washington Water Power, Bobby Schmidt was appointed director of the company, and Paul A. Redmond announced his retirement as chair and CEO. Redmond started with the company in 1965. Previously, Schmidt worked as an independent trader in Chicago.

MDU Resources Group Inc. has promoted Martin A. White from senior vice president, corporate development to president and CEO. White, who has been with the company since 1991, will replace retiring president H.J. Mellen Jr.

Robert L. Goocher was promoted to president of AGL Resources Service Co. from executive vice president and COO. Goocher began his career with AGL in 1972 as a junior accountant.

The oil and gas exploration production unit of CMS Energy Corp., CMS NOMECO Oil & Gas Co., has elected Robert C. Olson as vice president of exploration and Bradley W. Fischer as vice president of operations for the Western Hemisphere. Olson joins CMS from ARCO where he managed exploration, while Fischer previously served as senior vice president of Blazer Energy.

Atlanta Gas Light Co. has elected Thomas H. Benson president. Benson has worked for the company since 1970, most recently serving as executive vice president and COO.

At Green Mountain Power Corp., Christopher L. Dutton was named president and COO, replacing Douglas G. Hyde. Dutton has acted as CFO of Green Mountain since 1995. Hyde has accepted the position of president of the newly formed Green Mountain Energy Resources LLC, a national retail energy marketing company.

AUS Consultants has appointed Edward H. Salmon as president of a newly formed division, AUS Pathways, which will specialize in governmental affairs. Salmon previously served as president of the New Jersey Board of Public Utilities and has spent 25 years in government.

Two new employees have joined KBC Energy Services: Laura Dupre as manager, key accounts and Bruce Mudarri as transportation and exchange analyst. Dupre has 13 years of natural gas industry experience, most recently with National Fuel Gas Supply/Distribution Corp. Mudarri joins KBC from marketing operations coordinator at PanEnergy/Algonquin Gas Co.

CTG Resources Inc., the holding company of Connecticut Natural Gas Corp., has appointed Stephen H. Bryant vice president of marketing services and has promoted Jean S. McCarthy to assistant vice president, human resources services. Bryant joins CNG from Commonwealth Gas Co. McCarthy joined CTG in 1995 as director of human resources.

Randy Hardy has resigned from his position as administrator at the Bonneville Power Association citing family reasons. Hardy and his family live in Seattle, Wash., while his job with BPA was in Portland, Ore.

Teldata Inc. just added two new employees: Rajan Kaul has joined the staff as director of electric industry strategy, and Jim Hanson will serve as vice president of North American sales. Hanson most recently served as divisional systems sales manager and national sales manager at Schlumberger Industries. Kaul joins Teldata from ABB Power T&D, where he focused on automation of electric utilities.

Denise A. Bode was appointed commissioner of the Oklahoma Corporation Commission by Gov. Frank Keating. Bode has replaced Cody L. Graves, who resigned on July 1. Since 1991, Bode served as president of
