Island, N.Y. Service could commence as early as Nov. 1, 2003, depending on the final project scope and receipt of all necessary regulatory approvals. The open season offers up to 450,000 decatherms per day of capacity, designed to provide firm natural gas transportation service from Tennessee's interconnection with joint facilities of Maritimes & Northeast Pipeline LLC and Portland Natural Gas Transmission System Co. as well as from other traditional Tennessee supply areas.

Entergy-Koch LP , a new wholesale energy trading, transportation, and marketing company, has earned final regulatory approval and opened for business on Feb. 1. The privately-held company, formed by subsidiaries of Entergy Corp. And Koch Industries Inc. , delivers, markets, and trades power, natural gas, and other energy related commodities, including weather derivatives, through wholly-owned subsidiaries Axia Energy LP, Axia Energy Eurpe Ltd. , and Gulf South Pipeline Co. Power Plants

Wind Power. Two new wind-powered electric generating plants will be built in the Pacific Northwest, including the world's largest—the 300-MW Stateline Wind Project on the Washington-Oregon border—which will consist of 450 turbines. The other project is the the 260-MW Nevada Test Site project, consisting of 325 turbines to be built at DOE's Nevada Test Site by MNS Wind Energy.-L.A.B.
