John J. Carney has joined Solomon Associates as a power generation consultant. During Carney's 25 years of management experience, he has worked for Florida PowerCorp., Carolina Power and Light Co., and Florida Power and Light.

Constellation Energy Group (CEG) announced several executive appointments. Kathleen Chagnon was named CEG's new general counsel and corporate secretary. She replaced David A. Brune, who retired from CEG after 26 years with the company. Formerly, Chagnon was vice president and corporate group general counsel for the St. Paul Companies, Inc. James K. Walkington was named CFO of Constellation Generation Group. Walkington was vice president and CFO of the Raymond Professional Group, Inc. prior to Constellation, and was with Commonwealth Edison from 1995-2001 as vice president of financial services before joining Raymond. Peter A. Jenson was named CFO of Constellation Power Source. Prior to joining Constellation, Jenson was a partner at PricewaterhouseCoopers.

The American Water Works Company announced that Chairman Marilyn Ware has received the 2002 Keystone Center Award for Leadership in Industry for her leadership of American Water Works, which has included creating collaborative partnerships with public sector agencies.

Richard M. McIntire, a member of the Public Utilities Commission of Nevada, has been named president of the Western Conference of Public Service Commissioners (WCPSC). The WCPSC is comprised of utility commissioners from 13 states in the western region of the U.S. and Guam, and focuses on energy, water, and telecommunication issues pertinent to the region.
