PUF: Can you explain what you do?

Nancy Tyer: We only have four analysts, one engineer, one administrative assistant, and me - the director. We regulate Atlanta Gas Light. They have over 1.6 million customers.

We regulate all of their operations - everything except safety. We also regulate Liberty Gas Supply. They operate in Columbus and Gainesville. They don't fully regulate because they are still in the merchant function. We look at their gas supply and their revenue requirement regulation.

We have seventeen natural gas marketers. We regulate nineteen companies. Plus, we give a certificate of public convenience and necessity for the municipals that serve outside of their home counties.

There are at least thirty municipals that we regulate. At that point we give them a certificate to serve. We don't regulate their prices, but we do have them file their terms and conditions to make sure they are fair.

PUF: What is a typical day like?

Nancy Tyer: We don't have a typical day. For example, last week we came in and Constellation had sent out disconnections in error. So, that took time. But we also have, right now, a capacities supply for an amendment, and we deregulate for twenty years.
