PUF's Steve Mitnick: What is this fabulous vision at GM?

Mike Ableson: Mary Barra, our CEO, last year publicly rolled out this vision of zero emissions, zero crashes and zero congestion.

It's had a huge impact inside the company and really focused all the great people who work for General Motors on how to work toward this future vision.

People always talk about the innovator's dilemma. We talk about how established company and established industry is never going to move fast enough to keep up with the pace of change when one of these disruptions occur. Mary put out the vision to make sure that doesn't happen to us, that we're going to work aggressively on this transition and we intend to be one of the leading OEMs after this.

PUF: You don't make these far-out visionary statements lightly. You really think about whether you can deliver.
