A Day at North Carolina UC
Operations Director Bliss Kite, Deputy Directors George Sessoms, Bill Gilmore, and Bridget Paschal, and Fiscal Management Director Pat Jeter all serve the North Carolina Utilities Commission.
The PUF team made its way to the North Carolina Utilities Commission in mid-February. They received a warm welcome not only from the Commission but also from the independent and large Public Staff, which intervenes on behalf of the using and consuming public.
PUF: Bliss, as Operations Director, what's your typical day like?
Bliss Kite: I come in and take my coat off. Then I look to see if my phone has a message light blinking. Somebody may be calling in to let me know that they're going to be late or they're out sick.
I go get a Diet Mountain Dew, sit down and open the computer. Then I open my email inbox, which is a wonderful thing, but it's also annoying. There's so much that comes in over the weekend.
