PUF: What is your role at APS?

Barbara Lockwood: I'm the Vice President of Regulation, which means I have responsibility for everything that we do at the Arizona Corporation Commission, as well as at FERC. I have both of those accountabilities. Primarily, it's about rates and about policy at both the State and the Federal level.

PUF: What are the big areas you work on?

Barbara Lockwood: Arizona is at an interesting point in time right now with respect to energy policy. We're coming off of an election where voters rejected adopting a proposition to move to fifty percent renewable energy. But that's not the end of the conversation.

Clearly, we know our customers are interested in clean energy. Our commission, the Arizona Corporation Commission, is interested in clean energy. There are several competing proposals out there on how we move forward. I would guess that over the next six to nine months we're going to see some direction coming together in the state.
