PUF's Steve Mitnick: Brian, you're at NRECA. Tell us what you do, and why we're here at the Lab.

Brian Sloboda: I'm the Director of Consumer Solutions at NRECA. What we're doing at The Lab this year is responding to requests from our electric co-ops to showcase systems that can combine energy management, and some other services that are important to their consumers.

It's about having that concern for community. Co-ops are deploying broadband internet to people's homes. Co-ops have had successful thermostat programs for energy management. But now co-ops are looking to tie that package together, to be more of a complete solution for their consumers.

They want to have that combination of energy management, home security, and home healthcare from a trusted provider, which is their local electric co-op. We see a great deal of interest in this, and the reason we developed The Lab this year is to bring these devices under one roof so that folks can take a look at it and see if this sort of offering would be right in their service territory.

PUF: Shawn where do you fit in here? You're not at NRECA.
