Unique conversations
Steve Mitnick is the Editor-in-Chief of Public Utilities Fortnightly and the president of Lines Up, Inc.
The PUF team left its headquarters in Arlington, Virginia, and headed west to the great and beautiful state of Arizona to bring our readers an inside look at the latest happenings in that state's largest electric utility. They found so much exciting innovation going on at Arizona Public Service Company, that an entire issue of the magazine could have been filled with the energizing experiences that transpired.

There was a visit to the extraordinary Punkin Center Battery Storage site, one of the first true distribution system rebuild deferral projects in the nation. You will travel about ninety miles outside of Phoenix with the PUF team and APS hosts to learn more about using this technology.
You will listen in and find out how APS managed the outreach, education, and migration of over one million residential customers to new service plans in fewer than nine months. The utility has a long history of advanced rate designs, including time-of-use rates. When its peak shifted and with advances in technology, APS provided personalized information to all customers in a massive informational undertaking. It was award-winning.
