Policymaking at its Finest
Jeff Lyash is the CEO of TVA.
The 2019 Energy Policy Summit in Nashville drew heavy hitters from utilities. Among them were Jeff Lyash, CEO, TVA, Charles Patton, executive vice president of external affairs, American Electric Power, and Bill Murray, senior vice president - corporate affairs and communications, Dominion Energy. The August Energy Summit was kicked off on a Sunday morning by bipartisan co-chairs, Indiana State Senator Eric Koch and Illinois State Senator David Koehler.
PUF's Lori Burkhart: Why did you come to this National Conference of State Legislators Energy Task Force Summit?
Jeff Lyash: This question of energy and the environment over the next thirty years is one of the biggest challenges globally, and certainly in the United States. At the heart of that are customers, people, and society. Then we have engineers, technology, and business models. Finally, we have regulators and policymakers. If we don't make these three groups intersect at the right point on the horizon, we're not going to get to the solution.
So, I take every opportunity, when bodies like this are in my service territory, to come and share thoughts with them so that they can consider them as they ponder these issues.
