NARUC President and Mississippi Commissioner Brandon Presley got the NARUC Summer Policy Summit off to a rousing virtual start on July 15, holding a President's Preview, setting the engaging tone for the upcoming week's agenda. President Presley started off with audience participation, answering questions submitted via email, chat, and however electronically, showing the resilience required of holding a national conference on-line during a pandemic.

He made known the Summit would be fun too, announcing that during session breaks of the packed agenda there would be available videos to get to know the Commissioners better, for example, The Boy Behind Butch, Free Time with Freeman, and Picasso Paul. PUF Staff is thrilled with the latter, for readers have seen NARUC First Vice President and Idaho President Paul Kjellander's artwork in these pages lately, most recently on our July cover and this issue too.

Then it was all business as President Presley held a session on the Pulse of the Pandemic, addressing a new NARUC initiative, the Emergency Preparedness, Recovery and Resiliency Task Force, charged with managing emergencies and ongoing issues related to COVID-19. He was accompanied by its new Chair Arkansas Commissioner Kimberly O'Guinn. Enjoy this snapshot of NARUC's Summer Policy Summit and look for more in PUF's September issue, including coverage of the keynote by NAACP CEO Derrick Johnson.
