The PUF team reached out to respected experts helping FERC-jurisdictional companies identify and fix cybersecurity vulnerabilities, particularly those in which key components of the grid could come under cyber-attack. Matt Wyckhouse of Finite State and Tobias Whitney of Fortress Information Security explained for us what to worry about, what not to worry about, and how all of us can pitch in to help ensure our grid is cyber-secured.

PUF's Steve Mitnick: What's your role at Fortress?

Tobias Whitney: I'm the vice president of Energy Security Solutions at Fortress. I'm in charge of identifying and delivering solutions to our electric power customers. That is inclusive of both, like registered entities, users, and operators on the grid, as well as vendors.

At Fortress, we offer an integrated managed security service and platform that creates efficiencies in the supply chain security management process. Our capability is to provide a central repository of risk assessments and risk management activities to provide more clarity and efficiency in managing your suppliers.
