Tuesday's General Session at NARUC's Summer Policy Summit on July 21, 2020 was kicked off with special remarks by a special guest, Senator Lisa Murkowski from the great State of Alaska. While making her sixth NARUC appearance, she apologized for what she called her spooky appearance, noting she was making her first NARUC virtual speech from the depths of the Senate cloakroom, in a telephone booth.

A Senator who achieved many high positions, of great interest to PUF readers, she is Chairman of the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee, and serves on the Senate Appropriations Committee, where she is the Chairman of the Interior and Environment Subcommittee.

NARUC President Brandon Presley: I am thankful and honored to have the pleasure and privilege to introduce to you, and for us to hear from Alaska Senator, Lisa Murkowski. We appreciate her virtual appearance at our Summer Policy Summit. She has been a great friend to NARUC.

Senator Murkowski: Last year when I visited with you, I spoke to how well America is positioned to lead the world in energy. I spoke to our record setting oil and natural gas production, our prospects on becoming a net exporter, and the incredible growth that is taking place in her renewable energy industry.
