Arizona Public Service has a veteran workforce numbering nineteen percent of its six thousand three hundred employees. The company has received the Department of Defense Freedom Award, is a three-time recipient of the Department of Labor's Platinum HIREVets Medallion Award, and numerous other honors recognizing its programs employing veterans. APS held its seventh Annual Veterans Day Ceremony virtually on November 6, featuring Arizona and nationally-recognized business, community, and national security figures.
Below are excerpts from that Veterans Day ceremony; the full ceremony can be viewed here.
Jeff Guldner, Chairman & CEO, Arizona Public Service and Navy veteran: After military service, the transition from active duty to the civilian sector is not always easy. But today, many companies have made it a priority to employ veterans, for all the right reasons. They recognize the leadership skills, the team-focused, get-it-done attitude that veterans bring to any mission and they want them on their teams. That's why I want veterans on my team.
