The Indiana Senate Utilities Committee, Chaired by Indiana State Senator Eric Koch, met March 4 for an informational session on Lessons from Texas. Indiana, which is served by two Regional Transmission Organizations, felt effects from that polar vortex in February, and took the opportunity to learn from it.

Presentations were made by the Midcontinent Independent System Operator, PJM Interconnection, Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission, Indiana Energy Association, and Northern Indiana Public Service Company. Listen in to excerpts of this discussion.

Utilities Chair, Indiana State Senator, Eric Koch: As one who believes in learning from one's own experiences and learning from others' experiences, I thought it would be a good time to bring together MISO, PJM, the Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission, and the Indiana Energy Association to get their perspectives on what happened to Texas, why we hope that never happens here, and give committee members a chance to ask questions of these policy leaders.
