The power of partnerships is a phenomenon PUF has discussed more often lately in these pages as the energy and utilities industry is undergoing profound changes. That is evidenced here in a unique partnership between Rocky Mountain Power and TerraPower to build nuclear power plants.

But this is nuclear innovation, aimed at combating climate change with Natrium Technology using sodium fast reactor technology combined with a molten salt energy storage system. The federal government is involved with its Advanced Reactor Demonstration Program, as are many other sources of brainpower in a precedent-setting public-private partnership.

PUF knows you will be hearing a lot about the three hundred forty-five megawatt reactor that can boost output, as construction of the demonstration project moves along. PUF's Steve Mitnick: Chris, talk about what you do. What's a typical day like for the head of TerraPower?

Chris Levesque: TerraPower is a nuclear innovation company. The company was founded fourteen years ago with the belief there was a lot of nuclear technology to solve energy problems and health problems. Our lead founder was Bill Gates, who remains the chairman.
