Harkening back to May 2020 when the FCC made a key segment of spectrum available for electric utilities to use for broadband data platforms to support the modern electric grid, private network users now will benefit from an Anterix cybersecurity collective. Anterix brought together a team of cyber-physical solutions providers to drive security around scads of connected equipment with deployment of 900 megahertz spectrum based private LTE. PUF talks here with members of the collective: Qubitekk's Corey McClelland and Scott Packard, Onclave Network's Scott Martin, and Sierra Nevada's Pete Fischer, to dig into these essential services.

PUF's Steve Mitnick: What does Sierra Nevada Corporation do in the utilities industry?

Pete Fischer: We are primarily a defense contractor. We're a system integrator for the Department of Defense. That is Sierra Nevada Corporation's main business. You might have heard recently of Sierra Space, one of our big endeavors that actually spun off. We're not only in space, but we're also in the Department of Defense.

My cyber organization protects all of those industries and systems. We are responsible for protecting all of the critical infrastructure on the Department of Defense side.
