The January 18th Clean Energy Summit at the D.C. Public Service Commission had an impressive lineup of speakers. Including FERC Chair Willie Phillips, Maryland PSC Commissioner Odogwu Obi Linton, D.C. PSC Chair Emile Thompson, and Virginia State Corporation Commission Chair Jehmal Hudson.

Chair Phillips, in his keynote, said this:

"One of the things that I get asked about often these days is, what is your regulatory approach? What is your regulatory philosophy? I hate to disappoint people and tell them my principles; they have not changed.

But here as we sit in the wake of celebrating Martin Luther King Jr. holiday, I'm reminded of something that I posted the other day, which is a quote. That quote says, that what impacts one of us indirectly impacts us all directly. And I think if you boil down my approach to this job, to the role of a regulator, I think that sums it up. It's that respect for the position to lead and to understand how what you've done impacts others...
