West Virginia and Wyoming, while separated geographically, are both heavily reliant on extraction industries to make their economies hum. PUF talked with the Chairs of two Commissions, West Virginia and Wyoming, for a bipartisan look.

 

PUF's Paul Kjellander: You've got other titles. What are those?

Chair Mary Throne: I have been active in NARUC in a number of capacities and now chair the Clean Coal and Carbon Management Subcommittee. I was recently appointed to the NARUC Board of Directors.

In the west, I'm currently chair of WIRAB, which is the Western Interconnection Regional Advisory Body. Since we don't have an RTO or anything like that in the entire west, we have a multitude of organizations, but WIRAB advises Western Electricity Coordinating Council (WECC) on reliability issues.
