The Canada Energy Update 2024 was held January 31 in Ottawa at the National Arts Centre. It is an annual event where the Energy Council of Canada brings together leaders from Canada’s major national energy industry associations to provide a high-level review and forecast. This comprehensive, cross-sectoral update on the challenges and opportunities confronting Canadian energy presented an opportunity to listen to the experts reflect on the year that was, while providing expectations for the year ahead.

The in-person and virtual event was coordinated with the United States Energy Association’s State of the Energy Industry Forum, held the week before and excerpted on prior pages in this issue.

Enjoy these excerpted remarks by Electricity Canada CEO Francis Bradley, Canadian Gas Association’s Paul Cheliak, United States Energy Association CEO Mark Menezes, and Canadian Nuclear Association VP of Communications and Member Engagement Christopher Gully.
