Distributech is the largest transmission and distribution event in the country, and in 2025 expanded with focused convenings such as on data centers and AI. The event was held at the end of March in Dallas, Texas and offered education, connections, and solutions to drive the industry forward through the conference program and exhibition hall.

There were opportunities to explore innovations in electricity delivery automation, energy efficiency, demand response, and so much more. The Public Utilities Fortnightly team was there too and brings you here thoughts from attendees concerning issues of importance to the energy and utilities industry.

Enjoy these remarks on the future of energy that is coming fast. Featured here are perspectives from Ericsson Global Head of Mission Critical Networks — Utilities Koustuv Ghoshal.

PUF's Steve Mitnick: We're at Distributech. What's your mission? What are you hoping to see, to learn perhaps, to say to this mass of people?

Koustuv Ghoshal: Distributech has been an anchor for the industry to come together for a long time, over three decades now. The most exciting part is how it has evolved from being a hard-core transmission, distribution, with aspects of generation, T&D-focused show, to more ICT focused.
