Drew Marsh joined Entergy in 1998 right after completing his MBA at Northwestern University's Kellogg School of Management. He had previously earned a BS degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Notre Dame.  

At first, he was an Associate in the Strategic Planning department. By 2004, he was the Vice President for Strategic Planning, by 2007 the Vice President for Financial Planning and Communications, by 2010 the Vice President for System Planning and Operations, and by 2013 the company's Chief Financial Officer. And in November 2022, Marsh became Entergy's CEO.

His company has been one of the fastest growing in the nation's utilities industry. To address the challenges that come with such rapid growth, as well as the opportunities for customers, employees, and shareholders, Entergy has become an innovation machine on several fronts.  

So, when the Public Utilities Fortnightly team was invited to sit down with Marsh and talk through those challenges and opportunities, along with a partner, PwC's Earl Simpkins, we at PUF welcomed the chance. Simpkins, a PwC Board Member, added an industry-wide perspective to the conversation, the transcript of which follows.
