Advancing the Resurgence
The Nuclear Energy Institute hosted in late May its annual Nuclear Energy Policy Forum. Topic numbers one, two, and three were advancing nuclear power’s resurgence. And the conference program was jam packed with the leading thought leaders and decision makers on this critical subject. From the U.S. Secretary of Energy to the Chair of the U.S. Senate Committee on Environment and Public Works to Dominion Energy’s CEO to Commissioners from Arizona and North Carolina to a Duke Energy SVP, among others.

Again and again in the keynote addresses and panel discussions, the extraordinary importance of tax credit, safety regulatory, and site permitting policies came up and were drilled down. At the same time, it was remarkable how a consensus has been established including almost every quarter of our society, to advance and accelerate and scale up the next generation of nuclear power plants.
Here’s what this special gathering looked liked to the Public Utilities Fortnightly team privileged to be in the room.
