AVANGRID
Joe Purington is the CEO of AVANGRID’s Central Maine Power.
Accenture’s 33rd annual International Utilities and Energy Conference (IUEC) was held May 27-29 at the Conrad hotel in Washington, D.C., with senior industry executives in the energy and utilities sector, along with world-renowned industry authorities. The PUF team was there too.

While much was going on at the event, key industry thought leaders from the C-suite took time out from their busy schedules to speak with PUF Executive Editor Steve Mitnick. They gave unique perspectives on building an energy system for resilience, growth, affordability, and more.
You will learn much from these forward-looking conversations with Exelon CEO and EEI Chair Calvin Butler, Centrica CEO Chris O’Shea, and AVANGRID’s Central Maine Power CEO Joe Purington.
PUF’s Steve Mitnick: What is your role, and what do you do on a typical day?
Joe Purington: I’m the AVANGRID CEO of Networks for the networks business and the President and CEO of Central Maine Power. I enjoy both roles immensely.
The best part about my job is that when I wake up in the morning, I look forward to the challenges in the day that I expected. However, by eight a.m., all bets are off as there are more opportunities to work on different topics or issues that have arisen.
