For many, summer is meant for leisure travel with family and friends, and for those of us working in clean energy, it can also be a chance to learn how other cities and countries are progressing their decarbonization goals and bring those insights back to our U.S. counterparts, companies, and colleagues. Over the course of two weeks, I traversed six countries: Portugal, France, Switzerland, Italy, Germany, and Austria. From the bustling streets of Lisbon and Paris to the serene mountain towns of Zermatt and Breuil-Cervinia, I observed a continent in motion, decisively advancing future-ready, sustainable systems.
