Exelon’s Commonwealth Edison is committed to powering a cleaner brighter future for its customers and communities, which includes electrification for EV charging and the nation’s fast-growing community solar program. The PUF team traveled to Chicago to find out more and how ComEd is working with partners to achieve desired outcomes. Profiled here are ComEd’s work on community solar with Prologis.

Vice President of Energy Solutions at Prologis Natasha Keefer is working to transform warehouse rooftops into clean energy hubs. ComEd’s Senior VP of Technical Services Mark Baranek and VP of Strategy and Energy Policy Scott Vogt are overseeing the community solar programs. Together, Prologis and ComEd are reshaping how solar is deployed in Illinois.

PUF’s Steve Mitnick: Talk about your company and why you’ve partnered with ComEd on community solar.

Natasha Keefer: Prologis is the world’s largest logistics real estate company. We own and operate more than five thousand five hundred buildings worldwide, totaling about 1.3 billion square feet of industrial space.

In addition to logistics, we also develop, own, and operate solar and battery storage resources. Community solar is one of the clean energy solutions we deploy across our rooftops. Partnering with ComEd allows us to strengthen the grid while serving our tenants and surrounding communities.
