The CAMPUT 2026 Conference gathered Canada's energy community from May 5 – 8 in Montreal, Québec at a pivotal time of energy transition. Guided by the theme, "Bridging the Divide: Bold Strategies for a Resilient Energy Future," the conference explored how regulators and stakeholders can unite across regional, technical, and institutional divides to strengthen Canada's energy future.
This panel, called, Connecting with the Future: Hopes and Energy Dreams, asked whether AI is the spark that will redefine how we produce, move, and manage energy. This session looked at how utilities are using AI to turn data into foresight by predicting failures, optimizing systems, and unlocking new efficiencies. Early adopters explored what AI-driven intelligence could mean for reliability, decarbonization, and regulation in the years ahead.
