NARUC
Ann Rendahl is the current President of NARUC, leading the organization of state utility regulators and serving on its Executive Committee and Board. She is also a commissioner on the Washington Utilities and Transportation Commission (UTC), first appointed in 2014 and reappointed through January 2027. Rendahl participates in key industry groups, including the Southwest Power Pool’s Markets+ States Committee and advisory councils for EPRI and several university utility programs. Before joining the UTC, she held senior legal and policy roles there. She holds degrees from Wellesley College, UC Berkeley, and UC Law San Francisco.
Paul Kjellander is PUF Senior Advisor, former NARUC and Idaho Commission President.
The NARUC Summer Policy Summit will gather Commissioners and industry leaders from around the country July 19-22 in Minneapolis, Minnesota. NARUC President and Washington Commissioner Ann Rendahl will lead the conference, along with First Vice President and Virginia Commissioner Jehmal Hudson and Second Vice President and Minnesota Chair Katie Sieben.
The City of Lakes will host energy and utility experts to convene on the big issues, which include affordability, large-load demand, permitting reform, and much more. Conference sessions will explore strategic insights necessary to navigate a rapidly evolving energy landscape.
PUF reached out to NARUC leadership on what to expect at the Summer Policy Summit. NARUC President Ann Rendahl talked with former NARUC President and PUF Senior Advisor Paul Kjellander on the annual theme of Uniting Regulators, Harmonizing Impact that will be reflected at the Summit, as will the sub-theme on the importance and need for reliable and resilient infrastructure.
