November marked the two-year anniversary of the EEI International Programs column in Public Utilities Fortnightly. In this year’s Special Edition, we bring you all our EEI-PUF articles from January to December 2024.

This year has brought dynamic changes to the global energy landscape, bringing both new challenges and new opportunities to the clean energy transition. Our monthly columns provided key insights into the trends and innovations shaping the future of electricity worldwide.
We started in January with a look ahead to 2024. In it, we noted that we would face increased uncertainty as the industry continued to navigate the convergence of growing electricity demand, geopolitical conflicts, and extreme weather events. Does this sound familiar? This era of uncertainty is set to continue into 2025, yet our member companies remain steadfast in their commitment to affordability and reliability.
In February and March, we focused on critical topics including minerals, the future workforce, clean energy investments, and value creation. Each of these areas can become either bottlenecks or opportunities. The decisions that companies make today to optimize their supply chains, develop a next-generation workforce, and create innovative financial mechanisms will affect their long-term plays in this transition.
