Minnesota PUC
Katie Sieben is Chair of the Minnesota PUC, and was nominated by one of NARUC’s regional associations, the Mid-America Regulatory Conference or MARC, to become the next NARUC Second Vice President.
Paul Kjellander is PUF Senior Advisor and former NARUC President.
There is an adage about how if you want something done to give it to a busy person. So, it makes sense that one of NARUC’s regional associations, the Mid-America Regulatory Conference or MARC, has chosen to put forward Minnesota PUC Chair Katie Sieben to become the next NARUC Second Vice President.

A long-serving Commissioner since January 2017, Chair Katie Sieben is a busy person who gets things done. At NARUC, she serves on the Gas-Electric Alignment for Reliability (GEAR) Working Group, the Committee on Energy Resources and the Environment, the Subcommittee on Nuclear Issues – Waste Disposal, and the Washington Action Committee.
Chair Sieben previously served as a Minnesota legislator, representing a district southeast of Minneapolis-St. Paul. In her fourteen years in the State House and Senate, she championed causes related to the environment, public education, and infrastructure, served as the Assistant Majority Leader, and chaired the Election Committee. She discussed with PUF’s Paul Kjellander what is next in her busy career.
PUF’s Paul Kjellander: Congratulations on being selected by your Mid-America Regulatory Conference colleagues to have your name put forward to become the next NARUC Second Vice President. What are your thoughts on this new role in the National Association’s leadership track?
