Cyber Summit
Bob Ackerman is Chair of the Global Cyber Innovation Summit. He is also known as one of “Cyber’s Money Men” for his venture capital investing in cybersecurity start-ups.
The Global Cyber Innovation Summit (GCIS) on National Security Threats to Critical Infrastructure brought together Fortune 200 Chief Information Security Officers, and policy thought leaders; intelligence including NSA, FBI, CIA; as well as CISA and cyber technology innovators. This invitation-only forum convened for two days in New York City in July and fostered a dynamic exchange of ideas to drive innovation in the efficiency and effectiveness of global cybersecurity strategies and solutions.

The Summit is led by its chair, Bob Ackerman, referred to as one of Cyber’s Money Men for his leadership in venture capital investing in cybersecurity start-up technology companies. With twenty-plus years of experience as a venture capitalist, Bob founded Silicon Valley-based cybersecurity venture capital firm AllegisCyber, co-founded Maryland-based cyber start-up studio DataTribe, and began Founder’s Equity Partners, a direct secondary investment firm investing in cybersecurity companies.
Featured in the September issue of Public Utilities Fortnightly, the event with its call to action, included big names in the electric and utilities industry. Here in the October issue of PUF, Bob Ackerman discussed the Summit and its importance.
